In a prior life, he had also helped launch Groupon in China, helping to run Groupon Southern China. George currently spends time in the metaverse between SF, Boston, and Hawaii. He enjoys breakdancing, reading, and stand-up comedy in his spare time.
What inspired you/your team to create this company?
I built out the programmatic ad tech stack at Facebook and saw merchants spend 40-60% of their revenues on Facebook ads. We kept thinking that’s an absurd amount of money – and that it would be game changing if we can help merchants acquire customers via organic channels.
What distinguishes your company and product in the market?
On the team level, we built up a strong team of ex-social, adtech, social ecomm, and gaming. (George is the ex-product lead for Facebook’s adtech stack and grew it from $0->$1BN+; in a prior life he helped launch Groupon in China. Craig was the eng lead that architected Facebook’s search engine and lead teams on growth. The rest of team are ex-Googlers and ex-Gaming.) On the product level, we’re leveraging our background as Asians who worked in Asia and combining US experience in social, ecomm, and gaming – with real life experiences having lived in and worked in social ecomm in Asia.
