George Ruan co-founded the popular browser extension Honey in 2012, which enabled consumers to ensure they had the best price possible by providing easy access to online coupons and participate in a rewards program. After building up the user base to over 17 million monthly active users, Honey was acquired by PayPal for $4 billion. This was the largest acquisition of PayPal’s to date.

Since then, PayPal’s goal is to apply Honey’s functionality to PayPal and Venmo products so their consumers would be able to discover deals while making the digital commerce experience more user-friendly. George still oversees Honey in his role as a Vice President at PayPal.
