David – David Chao is Co-Founder and General Partner at DCM, an early stage global technology venture capital firm with USD $4billion under management. DCM is based in Silicon Valley, Beijing and Tokyo. David is also responsible for the investments in SoFi, Bill.com, Fortinet (Nasdaq: FTNT), 51job (Nasdaq: JOBS – David is Chairman of the Board), Musical.ly (TikTok), Careem (Uber), Sling Media (Dish), Eaze, eDreams, SMIC (NYSE: SMI), All About Japan, Inc. (JASDAQ: 2454), Kabu.com(TSE: 8703), Ucloud and Figure in the crypto/blockchain sector, Blockfolio (FTX), Amber, Theta, Chia, Provenance, and Polychain. David also serves on the Advisory Board of Legend Capital and is a former Trustee of The Thacher School. He has been listed as one of the top venture capitalists in US and Asia by Forbes Magazine since 2004 and was named to the Forbes Midas List Hall of Fame in 2016.

Prior to DCM, David was a Co-Founder and acting CFO/CTO of Japan Communications Inc. (Nasdaq Japan – Hercules: 9424), Japan’s first publicly traded mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). Previously, David worked for McKinsey, Recruit and Apple. He has a BA from Brown University and an MBA from Stanford University.
