ARVIN CHEN is a Taiwanese American director and screenwriter. Chen’s first two films WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME TOMORROW? and AU REVOIR TAIPEI were in the official selection at Berlin Film Festival, with AU REVOIR TAIPEI winning the Netpac Award in 2010. Chen’s latest feature MAMA BOY premiered in April at the Far East Film Festival and played at the New York Asian Film Festival. He recently directed the English-language feature adaptation of the bestselling novel “Loveboat, Taipei” for ACE Entertainment.
SANG-IL LEE was born in 1974 as a third-generation Korean resident in Japan. After graduating from university, Lee entered the Japan Academy of Moving Images, the film school of Imamura Shohei. He made his feature film debut with his graduation film, CHONG which won the Grand Prize at the venerable Pia Film Festival which has produced many young and talented filmmakers. He has been successfully building his career, and in 2006 his fifth feature film HULA GIRLS became a social phenomenon hit and won the Japan Academy Prize for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. Now Lee is one of Japan’s leading filmmakers and his profound insight into human nature stands out in his recent works including VILLAIN, UNFORGIVEN, and RAGE. His latest work isWANDERING an adaptation of Japan Booksellers’ Award-winning novel “The Wandering Moon.”
