API RISE, Asian Pacific Islander Reentry and Inclusion through Support and Empowerment, is a nonprofit organization founded in 2014 to support currently and formerly in APIs. We are an extended family of formerly incarcerated or detained Asian immigrants/refugees, Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders; immediate and extended family members; friends; and supporters primarily in the Los Angeles, Inland Empire, and Orange County region. Our mission is to make freedom a reality through culturally sensitive direct support, education and power building among currently and formerly incarcerated individuals, youth, families, allies, and supporters within the API community. We envision true freedom and liberation for API communities within a compassionate society that harnesses its community power.
