In collaboration with McKinsey & Company, this study examines the entertainment industry through multiple lenses to identify the factors contributing to the underrepresentation of Asian and Pacific Islander professionals in on- and off-screen roles across film and television.
A Balancing Act for Asian Representation: More Visible But Not Yet Specific

Gold Story Test is a quick tool meant to jumpstart conversation about multidimensional representation of Asian characters without prescribing definitive factors as to what constitutes proper Asian character portrayals. It consists of three parts:
- Is there a culturally-specific Asian character
- who communicates with another multicultural character
- about their own complex storylines beyond relation to white characters?
