Steven Lee is a Partner at SV Angel, where he has been investing in seed-stage founders across various sectors, including AI, enterprise, fintech, and consumer technology. In recent years, he has partnered with over 35 AI companies, including Modular, Captions, Skild AI, Tabular, and others still in stealth.

Before joining SV Angel, Steven was a Director at Bain Capital Ventures, working with portfolio companies like Clockwise and Magical. He was also the founder of Bain Capital Ventures’ data-driven sourcing efforts. Prior to becoming a venture capitalist, Steven was an early member of Twitter’s Global Market Insight & Analytics team over a decade ago.

Steven is the proud son of two immigrants from South Korea and grew up in Los Angeles’ Koreatown district. As one of the few Korean-descent partners in the VC industry, he actively supports Gold House, a non-profit organization that empowers and unites Asian Pacific creators and businesses.

He holds a B.A. in economics from New York University. During Steven’s time as a student at NYU, he worked multiple part-time jobs to self-finance his education and was a member of the NCAA Fencing team. He is based in San Francisco with his wife and newborn daughter.
