Steve W. Chung

Co-CEO of CJ ENM America and Chief Global Officer of CJ ENM

Steve W. Chung oversees all international business (outside of Korea) for CJ ENM as its inaugural Chief Global Officer, based in Los Angeles. Steve joined CJ ENM from FOX Corporation, where he was the Chief Growth Officer and led strategic initiatives to help position FOX for long-term growth. He launched its first OTT FAST channels, LiveNOW (news) and FOX SOUL (Black entertainment), and drove FOX’s transformation of its digital and OTT businesses.

Prior to FOX, Steve was the Founder and CEO of Frankly, an OTT and digital media platform company serving ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX affiliates. After incubating the company at Stanford’s StartX accelerator, Steve took the company public on the TSXV stock exchange through a reverse IPO.

Steve began his career as an analyst at Goldman Sachs in New York and then served as Executive Producer for a flagship talk show “21@21” for Shanghai Media Group’s Dragon TV. Since then, Steve has held various executive roles in entertainment, investments and technology spanning Silicon Valley, Asia and Europe. He was a venture capitalist for BlueRun Ventures (formerly known as Nokia Venture Partners) and COO of the social media company We Heart It.

Steve is an author of two Stanford business school case studies on US market entry of global companies and a member of the Board of Directors at the National Asian Pacific Committee on Aging (NAPCA). He has also previously served on a Stanford University Board of Trustees subcommittee as a graduate representative. Steve also served in numerous public service internships including at the CIA, The White House (West Wing), U.S. Senator John Kerry’s office and the UK Parliament.

Steve graduated magna cum laude with an A.B. from Harvard University, and received his M.B.A. from Stanford University.
