Ramin Setoodeh is the co-editor in chief of Variety, where he oversees all aspects of editorial — including print, digital and video — for the venerable newsroom covering the business of Hollywood. He is the executive producer of Actors on Actors, the Emmy-winning series which celebrates the best TV and movie performances of the year. Under Ramin’s editorship, Variety has landed cover stories with everyone from French president Emmanuel Macron to Zendaya, Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Ryan Gosling, Jennifer Lopez, Cate Blanchett, Scarlett Johansson, Sean Penn, Margot Robbie, Christopher Nolan, Sabrina Carpenter and Jennifer Coolidge.

Ramin is the author of two New York Times best-selling books: Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of The View and Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass, where he interviewed Donald Trump six times between 2021 and 2023. He is the recipient of many journalism prizes, including the Webby Award for best feature writing and Entertainment Journalist of the Year from the Los Angeles Press Club. His writing has been published in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone and Newsweek.

He graduated from Stanford University and lives in New York.
