Rahul Patil is the Chief Technology Officer of Anthropic, a role he assumed in late 2025 to lead the company’s engineering organization across product, infrastructure, and security. A veteran of the technology industry with over 20 years of experience, he joined Anthropic from Stripe, where he served as CTO and oversaw the technical systems supporting millions of global businesses. His career is defined by a focus on building and scaling mission-critical cloud infrastructure, including senior leadership tenures at Amazon Web Services, where he led the Kinesis team, as well as Microsoft and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

At Anthropic, Patil is responsible for the technical foundation that powers the Claude AI models, specifically overseeing compute, inference, and the integration of product-engineering with infrastructure teams. An alumnus of PES University in Bengaluru with a Master’s in Computer Science from Arizona State University and an MBA from the University of Washington, Patil is recognized for his “design for failure” philosophy, which emphasizes building resilient, self-recovering systems capable of supporting the massive enterprise demand for generative AI.
