Michelle Wu is the first woman, the first person of color, and the first Asian American elected to serve as the mayor of Boston, Massachusetts. Before becoming mayor, she was the first Asian American woman elected to the Boston City Council, as well as the first woman of color to serve as Council President.

In 2016, Wu was honored as one of Ten Outstanding Young Leaders by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and as part of Marie Claire magazine’s New Guard: The 50 Most Influential Women in America. Michelle continues to be a voice for accessibility, transparency, and community engagement in city leadership.
