Born in Sacramento, California to a Chinese immigrant father and Taiwanese immigrant mother, Lisa Ling is a world-renowned journalist, television presenter and author.
After getting her start as one of four hosts on a nationally syndicated teen magazine show, she joined Channel One News and became one of their youngest reporters and anchors at the age of 18. One of her roles was a War Correspondent in locations such as Iraq and Afghanistan, and would lead her to receive numerous awards for reporting and documentaries.
In 1999, a hosting seat on ABC’s talk show, The View, became vacant. Lisa decided to apply and beat out over 12,000 people who had auditioned. After a few years, Lisa was drawn back to international reporting and decided to leave The View in 2002.
Since then, she has hosted a slew of investigative pieces both domestic and international for the National Geographic Channel, the Oprah Winfrey Show and CNN. She has also served as executive producer and hose of This Is Life With Lisa Ling, a primetime documentary series on CNN, and Take Out, on HBO Max.
