LEE BYUNG-HUN is an award-winning actor who has solidified his position as one of Asia’s biggest stars. Up next, he will reprise his role as “Front Man” in the highly anticipated final season of the Netflix global phenomenon SQUID GAME. He also recently wrapped production on NO OTHER CHOICE, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Park Chan-wook. A household name throughout Asia, Byung-hun is one of South Korea’s most prominent actors to cross over into the global market with lead roles as “Billy Rocks” in Antoine Fuqua’s THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, and as “Storm Shadow” in the GI JOE franchise films. His other American credits include Lionsgate’s RED 2, MISCONDUCT opposite Anthony Hopkins and Al Pacino, and Paramount’s TERMINATOR GENISYS. Byung-hun has played the lead in a large array of critically acclaimed and high-grossing films over the past 30 years. Recently, Byung-hun starred in the acclaimed South Korean submission for the 2023 Academy Awards, CONCRETE UTOPIA. Other notable film credits include the films I SAW THE DEVIL, A BITTERSWEET LIFE, and THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE WEIRD, and other television credits include OUR BLUES, IRIS, and MR. SUNSHINE, one of the top five highest-rated Korean dramas in history. His performance in the political crime-action film INSIDE MAN won him a total of fourteen awards including the Best Actor Prize in three prestigious awards: Baeksang Art Awards, Blue Dragon Awards, and Grand Bell Awards, a feat which has yet to be repeated. Recognized for his achievements in Asia and abroad, Byung-hun was the first Korean actor to be given the Asian Film Excellence Award at the 15th Asian Film Awards, and remains the only actor to sell out the Tokyo Dome. He was the first South Korean actor to present an Oscar at the annual Academy Awards and was the first South Korean actor to imprint his hand and foot in the forecourt of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
