Julia S. Gouw is a trustee of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and the retired President and Chief Operating Officer of East West Bank.

A five-time honoree on American Banker magazine’s list of the “25 Most Powerful Women in Banking,” Julia has also received the Los
Angeles Business Journal’s “Women Making a Difference” award twice, recognizing both her professional achievements and philanthropic Contributions.

She serves on the board of directors for Pacific Life and is the Chairwoman of the board for Piermont Bank. Julia has been named one
of the Top 30 Asian American and Pacific Islander Board Members by Board Prospects.

A trailblazer in the business world, Julia has shattered glass ceilings and become a role model for women across industries. Beyond finance, she has been a passionate advocate for Asian representation in entertainment, championing diverse voices and perspectives in the Industry.

Through initiatives like the Julia S. Gouw Short Film Challenge and the Julia S. Gouw Asian Women in Entertainment Prize, she has empowered emerging Asian artists, providing them with opportunities to showcase their work and fulfill their creative ambitions.

Julia was honored with the inaugural AAPI Celebration Industry Leadership Award at the 2024 Critics Choice Association Celebration of
AAPI Cinema and Television, further cementing her impact as a leader in both business and entertainment.
