Joyce is the driving force behind Rare Beauty’s innovative product strategy, collaborating closely with founder Selena Gomez to bring her vision to life. As Chief Product Officer, Joyce ensures every launch meets the highest standards of quality and performance, resulting in some of social media’s most viral beauty sensations. She’s the architect behind cult-favorite products like the Soft Pinch Liquid Blush and Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter, coveted by beauty enthusiasts, influencers, and makeup artists globally.
Joyce’s expertise in building beauty empires is undeniable. As one of the early employees at NYX Professional Makeup, she played a pivotal role in driving innovation in product across thousands of SKUs. During her time as VP of Global Product Development at NYX Professional Makeup, the brand saw explosive growth and was recognized as WWD’s Brand of the Year in 2013 and 2015. After the acquisition of NYX by L’Oréal, Joyce stayed on to help globalize the brand, expanding in markets worldwide.
Her background extends beyond beauty, providing her with a unique, holistic perspective. At Sole Technology, an apparel and footwear company, Joyce honed her operational prowess, gaining a 360-degree view of the entire product lifecycle through roles in Accounting, Sales, Operations, Production/Purchasing, and Merchandising.
Joyce grew up in Orange County, California and received her undergraduate degree from UC Irvine and her MBA from USC. When she’s not shaping the future of beauty, she loves to travel and sing karaoke in various parts of the world.
Joyce currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, two children, and their dog, Nico, who also happens to be a beloved Rare Beauty office mascot.
