Jordan Mailata is an Australian-born offensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles, renowned for his extraordinary transition from rugby league to the NFL. Born on March 31, 1997, in Bankstown, New South Wales, Mailata played rugby for the South Sydney Rabbitohs’ under-20 team before being discovered through the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program. Despite having no prior American football experience, he was drafted by the Eagles in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Mailata became the first Australian to start and win a Super Bowl, playing a pivotal role in the Eagles’ victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. In 2024, he earned Second-Team All-Pro honors and was rated the NFL’s top offensive lineman by Pro Football Focus, boasting a 95.8 overall grade.
