Hans Tung is a Managing Partner at GGV Capital U.S., focusing on early-stage investments across the global digital economy ecosystem. He is consistently recognized among the top venture capital investors in the world, having been named to the Forbes Midas list 11 consecutive years from 2013-2023, and has been in the top 10 for the last 5 years. He has also been recognized among the Top 100 Asian Americans by Gold House in 2018-2020. In 2023 and 2024, Hans and his team launched the Fintech Innovation 50, a list and community highlighting the rising stars in fintech innovation. He also oversees the firm’s DE&I initiatives.

Hans’ portfolio spans six cities across the U.S. as well as three continents and includes 24 unicorns or companies valued at more than $1 billion, such as Affirm, Airbnb, Coinbase, Ibotta, Peloton, Poshmark, Stock X, Stori, Vedantu, Xiaohongshu, 6Sense, and others. These companies help to democratize technology access for both consumers and businesses and recognize AI’s transformative role.

Born in Taiwan, Hans grew up in Los Angeles and attended Stanford University, graduating with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. Hs spent eight years investing in Asia before returning to Silicon Valley in 2013 to join GGV Capital U.S. to focus on globally-minded founders.
