Fumi Nikaido

Fumi Nikaido is an award-winning actress originally from Okinawa, Japan. Nikaido made her screen debut in Toad’s Oil, directed by Koji Yakusho. Shortly after the successful debut, she won the Marcello Mastroianni Award at the Venice Film Festival for a co-starring role in Himizu. Since then, Nikaido has built a prolific career in film, TV and theater. Her recent credits include River’s Edge (Netflix), directed by Isao Yukisada, and Yell (NHK), a popular drama series in which she plays a professional singer.
