Chase Kang

Chase Kang is a Los Angeles-based bilingual journalist covering AAPI and immigrant communities, K-pop’s global reach, and the people shaping culture across borders. Born and raised in Seoul, she reports on how K-pop changes as it moves beyond Korea and who gets to define what the “K” means.

Her work has appeared in Rolling Stone Korea, Genius, The Korea Times, and Radio Seoul, and she has contributed commentary to BBC World Service and FOX 11. She has produced more than 60 reported stories across Greater Los Angeles and conducted over 250 interviews with public officials, experts, artists, and community leaders. Drawing on her background in cultural anthropology at Yonsei University, she focuses on the people who sustain the industry offstage, from executives and producers to fans.

Chase also hosts and produces Chasing K-pop, a podcast about fandom, community, and the changing meaning of K-pop beyond the stage.
