ANDREW AHN
Andrew Ahn is a queer Korean American filmmaker based in Los Angeles. Ahn’s latest film THE WEDDING BANQUET (Bleecker Street) starring Lily Gladstone, Bowen Yang, and Kelly Marie Tran premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. His previous film FIRE ISLAND (Searchlight Pictures) was nominated for two Emmy Awards and won the Ensemble Tribute at the 2023 Gotham Awards and a GLAAD Award for Outstanding Film Streaming/TV. Ahn’s sophomore feature DRIVEWAYS premiered at the 2019 Berlinale and was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards. Ahn’s first film SPA NIGHT premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and won a Special Jury Award for Breakthrough Performance. The film went on to win the 2017 John Cassavetes Film Independent Spirit Award. Ahn has directed both fiction and documentary television, including shows Bridgerton and Generation. He has promoted diversity in the arts by mentoring youth filmmakers through programs like Pacific Arts Movement’s Reel Voices, Outfest’s OutSet, and the Sundance Institute’s Native Filmmaker Lab. He graduated from Brown University and received an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).
ANITA GOU
Anita Gou is a visionary film producer and founder of Kindred Spirit, a production company dedicated to championing bold, diverse storytelling. She is renowned for producing acclaimed films such as THE FAREWELL (2019), HONEY BOY (2019), and ASSASSINATION NATION (2018). In 2025, Gou produced the reimagined THE WEDDING BANQUET, directed by Andrew Ahn and co-written with James Schamus, who also co-wrote the original 1993 film.
BOWEN YANG
Bowen Yang is an Emmy®-nominated comedian, actor and writer. Bowen stars in Universal Pictures’ Wicked as ‘Pfannee’ alongside Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jeff Goldblum and Jonathan Bailey. Bowen can currently be seen on his 6th season of Saturday Night Live as a repertory player on the show. Joining the show as a writer in 2018 and becoming an on-air cast member in 2019, Bowen has achieved critical acclaim and has gone on to receive three Emmy® Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Bowen stars in Andrew Ahn’s remake of the 1993 romantic comedy, The Wedding Banquet opposite Lily Gladstone, which had its premiere at Sundance Film Festival in January. The film will be released on April 18. Additionally, Bowen currently hosts the acclaimed iHeartRadio podcast, LAS CULTURISTAS, alongside fellow comedian Matt Rogers, where they take listeners on an unforgettable journey into the beating heart of culture. Garnering rapid success, the podcast was named Podcast of the Year at the 2023 iHeartRadio Podcast Awards. Additional film and television credits include Searchlight Pictures’ Fire Island, Universal Pictures’ Bros starring opposite Billy Eichner and Luke MacFarlane, A24’s Dicks: The Musical, Comedy Central’s Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens, where he played Nora’s cousin Edmund. Bowen was also featured in 2021’s TIME 100Artists. Bowen currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
HAN GI-CHAN
Han Gi-Chan is a South Korean actor who gained recognition for his role in the groundbreaking BL web drama Where Your Eyes Linger (2020), marking his acting debut. In 2025, he starred in the modern adaptation of THE WEDDING BANQUET, further establishing his presence in both domestic and international cinema.
KELLY MARIE TRAN
Kelly Marie Tran is an American actress who rose to prominence as Rose Tico in STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (2017), becoming the first Asian-American woman to play a leading role in the franchise. She further showcased her versatility by voicing the titular character in Disney’s RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON (2021) and, in 2025, starred in Andrew Ahn’s queer Asian-American remake of THE WEDDING BANQUET, a project that resonated deeply with her personal journey.
