I’m a New York City based journalist with a passion for building community through digital platforms and uplifting women creatives in media spaces. After earning my master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University I was a video producer, writer, and social editor for Condé Nast publications including Vanity Fair, Glamour, Allure, and Self. My coverage spans across politics, social justice movements, women’s interests, and pop culture. As the Editorial and Social Director of CONVICTS, I produced Truth Against Hate, a series in partnership with Hate is A Virus, shedding light on racism against the AAPI community. As a freelancer I have created editorial and video content for platforms including Amazon Music and InStyle. I am also the founder and Editor in Chief of EnVi Media, a multimedia publication focused on culture and entertainment across the Asian diaspora, where I lead overall strategic direction and mentor the next generation of diverse journalists.

Daniel Anderson, a disabled Chinese American adoptee from Seattle, Washington, is a distinguished writer whose work appears in NextShark, Timid Magazine, Grammy.com/The Recording Academy, ELLE Singapore, Rolling Stone Korea, NME, and Seattle Magazine. Quoted for his K-pop expertise by The New York Times, he is also a 2023 recipient of the Bill Imada Unsung Hero Award from Asian Hustle Network. Daniel’s writing advances conversations on AAPI excellence, the Hallyu wave, adoptee narratives, and AAPI foodways.

Juhi Doshi is a Researcher and Production Associate for NBC’s Meet the Press. She has worked for POLITICO, ABC News, CBS News, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Reports, KNBC-TV, and CalMatters. Juhi has covered the 2024 election, White House, Congress, and California politics. She was the recipient of the 2023 White House Correspondents’ Association and Asian American Journalists Association scholarship. Juhi also routinely produces stories for national media outlets that impact and relate to the AAPI community.

Kanika Talwar is a New York-based journalist and Central Saint Martins, M.A. Fashion Journalism alumni, who currently works as a Business Reporter at WWD.

In her role, she has been exploring and spearheading the intersection of Formula 1, fashion and the business of sponsorships.

She is the creator of the Substack, “Famine of Beauty,” and has been widely published in Vogue India, V Magazine, PopSugar, Fashionista, PAPER, and other prominent outlets. Her fashion interests encompass the intersection of fashion and culture (and pop-culture), reviewing and dissecting runway collections and luxury brands, showcasing diverse and emerging designers, and critically analyzing the state of the fashion industry.

Laura Sirikul is a freelance writer/critic who has written for Elle Magazine, Variety, Empire Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, Timid Magazine, Inverse, Grammy, The Daily Beast, Primetimer, Nerdist, IGN, NBC News, Red Carpet Report, The Hollywood Reporter, The Nerds of Color, and many other outlets. She has moderated AAPI-focused panels for Lionsgate, NBC, Disney, WB, 20th Century FOX, Netflix, CAPE, and Gold House. As a Rotten Tomatoes-approved critic, she has appeared on NPR’s Pop Culture Happy Hour, CBC Radio, and BBC World News. She is also an active member of the Asian American Journalists Association, Critics Choice Association, Television Critics Association, and GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics.

Lilian Manansala is a producer and video journalist for the News & Documentary team at Business Insider. She has worked on the formats World Wide Waste, Still Standing, and Insider News. She earned her master’s in journalism at New York University. After graduation, she was a member of the first cohort of the Vox Media Writer’s Workshop in Summer 2021 and one of 12 journalists chosen for the 2022 Data Institute sponsored by OpenNews, ProPublica, and the Ida B. Wells Society. She was a 2022 finalist for the L.A. Press Club Awards in the educational reporting category for her piece “Getting Paid Less to Do the World’s Most Important Job” in Capital & Main. Lilian is also an Emmy-nominated choreographer and member of the Television Academy Choreography Peer Group.

I am a journalist based in Los Angeles, CA. I have almost six years of experience in journalism while working in Los Angeles’ arts and culture spaces. With a preservationist lens, I enjoy writing about my city and the diasporic movements of the 20th century that have made it one of the most culturally diverse areas in California. As we approach the Olympics’ arrival to the U.S. in 2028, I aim to focus on the housing insecurity, youth inequity, and resistance movements that arise from sportswashing. Much of this reporting will be rooted in my own identity as a first generation Korean Angeleno who witnesses how often later-generation API groups–with their own history of organizing and movement building–are underrepresented in stories of dissent and struggle. Outside of my writing, I love birdwatching and talking about Real Housewives of Salt Lake City (I love mess).

Wei Tsay is a three-time entrepreneur and a proud Asian American. In 2016, Wei founded Apologue, a social media agency trusted by brands like Marc Fisher, Easy Spirit, and Medtronic. Most recently, Wei founded Very Asian in 2020 to amplify Asian news, people, and businesses. As a team of one, Wei creates all of Very Asian’s content, manages the website, fulfills merch orders, manages all social media channels, and has amassed nearly 100k combined social followers. Recently, Very Asian’s social media posts reached 16M+ people over a three-month period. Wei’s key goals for Very Asian are to: 1) Increase Asian representation in news, media, and entertainment; 2) Share the rich history and nuanced stories of Asian Americans; 3) Highlight injustice, hate, and anti-Asian attacks; 4) Advocate for underrepresented groups within the Asian community; 5) Invite non-Asian communities to learn more about us and build mutual trust and meaningful relationships.

Xintian Tina Wang is a journalist, author, photographer, and communication professional with 5+ years of experience in covering cultural stereotypes and innovations, including gender & sexuality, arts, business, and technology. Her recent work appears in TIME, HuffPost, ELLE, VICE, ARTNews, Observer, Business Insider, Inc. Magazine etc. She also serves as the Director of Events at the Asian American Journalist Association (AAJA) New York Chapter. She has a MS in journalism from Columbia University and a BS in advertising from Boston University.

Yang-Yi Goh is GQ’s Style Editor. Since joining the magazine in 2019, he has interviewed pro athletes, profiled movie stars, received hate mail for his opinions on sneakers, and written hundreds lists of the best suits, shirts, socks, pants, jewelry, sunglasses, hoodies…you get the idea. Prior to GQ, Yang helped found the short-lived (but not forgotten!) Canadian magazine Title, ran the website and style department of Sharp, and began his career as a researcher at ESPN. He is originally from Toronto—a thing he refuses to shut up about—but now lives in Brooklyn with his fiancée.

Zoe Yu is a Taiwanese-American essayist. As a winner of The New York Times Student Editorial Contest and a 2023 Scholastic Gold Medalist in Writing Portfolio, she writes about culture — what it is, how we shape it, and how it shapes us — for places like TIME Magazine, CNN Opinion, NBC News, and Teen Vogue. At the White House Initiative on AA and NHPIs, she writes policy briefs and reports to the President, and as a media intern at Janet Yang Productions, she works to bring Asian stories from script to screen. When Zoe’s not typing at 182 words-per-minute (her personal record… for now), you can find her curled up with a good book, playing Lana on shuffle, or drinking boba. Sometimes, all at once.
