Jalen Giovanni Jones is a Black and Filipino writer, editor, Emmy Award-winning producer, and journalist. With a background in critical mixed race studies and literary studies, his mission is to bring nuance and rigor to how audiences understand popular culture, identity, and entertainment. As a Staff Writer and Editor for Mixed Asian Media, his stories, interviews, and social media strategizing bring a sense of community and clarity for readers through the leading outlet for reporting on mixed Asian identity. Founder and Host of All Power Books’ READ 4 CHANGE leftist reading series, a key facet of Jalen’s work is to initiate change while building camaraderie, supporting artistic expression, and encouraging radical empathy for our neighbors. In addition to his journalism and organizing work, his creative writing can be found in journals such as Callaloo, Foglifter, and Electric Literature, and he is at work on a novel about Blasian identity.
