Tim Chau

CEO and Co-Founder, Impact Media

Tim Chau built their first online community at 13 as a One Direction fan page and never looked back. Today, as a nonbinary Asian-American founder, Tim has built Impact Media to reflect the lived experience of the most diverse generation of all time: Gen Z. As Co-founder and CEO of Impact Media, Tim leads the defining digital destination for that generation, reaching over 55 million monthly readers and generating billions of content views across cultural deep dives, events, creator franchises, and news.

Under their leadership, the company has generated over 1 billion engagements, led award-winning marketing campaigns for Fortune 500 partners including Unilever and Samsung as well as leading non-profits like Ford Foundation and USC Annenberg, and expanded into events and original IP franchises. The company has also raised over $1.7 million for social causes, driven more than half a million petition signatures, and registered thousands of young voters.

Impact Media has been recognized by the GLAAD, The Webby Awards, Teen Vogue, and Fast Company; Tim was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2022. A sought-after voice on media and culture, Tim has been invited to speak at leading stages including Cannes Lions, Stanford University and Meta. Tim holds a BS in Business Administration from UC Berkeley Haas.
