The daughter of Taiwanese immigrants has also been a consistent advocate for Asian representation–both in her critique of several high-profile whitewashed castings and as a role model to young actresses and actors, alike. In 2017, she was honored as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by TIME Magazine.
