Chief Design Officer, Roblox

Tagu Kato serves as Chief Design Officer at Roblox, leading the Design and Creative organization on its journey to blend form and function while elevating the consumer experience through innovation in a safe and civil way.

Tagu has over two decades of design and creative experience, most recently serving as Vice President, Head of Design for Facebook at Meta, where he oversaw product design, content design, motion and visual design, production design, design engineering, design program management, and design operations across Facebook including Feed, Reels, Stories, Groups, Video, Gaming, Shop, Marketplace, News, Dating, and Ads. Prior to that, Tagu was Vice President, Design for The Walt Disney Company looking after more than 90 consumer-facing and hundreds of enterprise digital products globally including ABC, Disney, ESPN, FX, Marvel, National Geographic and Star Wars. He has also held various senior positions at Nike and at creative agencies. Over the course of Tagu’s career, he has played a vital role in earning notable creative industry awards, including Cannes Lions, D&AD, Emmy, Clio, and BIMA. Tagu was also recognized by Advertising Age as 40 Under 40 in 2020.

Tagu is a native of Japan and a true designer who is laser-focused on solving people problems at the intersection of creativity and technology. He graduated from the International Christian University in Tokyo.
