Tadanobu Asano is a Japanese actor who began his career at the age of 16 and has become one of the most popular actors in Japan. Asano starred as Genghis Khan in Sergei Bodrov’s Oscar-nominated film Mongol (Sony Pictures) and portrayed the Asgardian warrior ‘Hogun’ in Marvel’s three Thor films. Asano is also known for his roles in Midway (Lionsgate), 47 Ronin (Universal Pictures), and The Outsider (Netflix). Asano has been awarded the Upstream Prize for Best Actor at the 2003 Venice Film Festival, Best Actor Award at the 36^th Moscow International Film Festival in 2014 and has been the recipient of two Asian Film Awards – in 2016 for Best Supporting Actor and in 2017 for Best Actor.
